The Hotel Bundschuh is not just a dormitory-style urban hotel with seemingly endless corridors and rooms distinguishable only by the number on the door. 

Ever since we first opened, we have little by little extended and improved the hotel, always bearing our guests in mind. Three linked main buildings and a separate, fabulous Jugendstil villa offer a unique combination of traditional hospitality, modern conveniences and beautiful surroundings. 

Come and enjoy a typical “Schoppen” - a glass of Franconian wine – in the cosy atmosphere of our traditionally decorated parlour, a hearty snack in the lounge and simply relax in fine weather in one of the idyllic corners of our extensive garden.

The grounds

Another highlight of the Hotel Bundschuh is the over 4,000sqm hotel park:
The scenic green area offers a variety of possibilities to relax and enjoy.

The large sunbathing lawn invites you to sunbathe on nice days, and on the garden terrace we serve coffee and cake, small dishes from our snack menu and cold drinks. For a quick thirst, our garden bar is available for self-service during reception hours. A picturesque fountain also pampers your ears with a discreet splash - all with a view of the mountains of the Spessart.

An ideal place to recover from strenuous meetings or training sessions or simply to enjoy your holiday.

Our rooms

Every room in the Hotel Bundschuh is as individual as you are. You won’t find any run-of-the-mill, mass-produced furniture here. Instead, the rooms are tastefully furnished with attractive, handcrafted furniture and fittings in wood, granite and glass, combined with exclusive fabrics. We offer 38 carefully styled rooms with furnishings of the highest quality, each with its own en suite bath/shower and WC, telephone, LCD-TV, radio, minibar and WiFi. Many rooms also have their own balcony or sun terrace. A lift helps ensure that rooms on upper floors are also easily accessible.

Located in the heart of Lohr, the Hotel Bundschuh is the ideal starting point for discovering the beauty of the Spessart region – whether you are on foot, on a bike, in the car, or using public transport. Experience the seemingly endless forests for yourself as you tramp through the countryside, investigate some of the numerous cycle tracks, or take in a number of fascinating castles, palaces and museums on a drive through this attractive region. Not to be forgotten is of course the River Main with all the possibilities it has to offer as it meanders through a picturesque landscape. Or what about a bit of shopping as you stroll down Lohr’s high street, looking into some of the many diverse boutiques and shops? Culture, culinary specialities or shopping – there is all sorts to discover, and the choice is yours!

Lohr and the Spessart region have long since ceased to be the insiders’ tip they once were among cycling fans. Extremely popular with cyclists of all kinds, there can be few other regions in Germany able to offer more varied possibilities - whether you are planning a gentle group tour along the River Main, past idyllic villages and local landmarks, or you are an ambitious mountain-biker on the look-out for the ultimate challenge in the forests of the Spessart hills.

The Hotel Bundschuh is the three stars hotel in the centre of Lohr with a unique family atmosphere and the customer rating "very good" at Customer Alliance. Now in its 3rd generation, the Hotel Bundschuh is a home away from home for business travellers, but equally so for holidaymakers in search of pure relaxation or for guests with sporting ambitions: For business trips, the Hotel Bundschuh offers all the important extras such as online booking, telephone, TV, WLAN and parking space use. Most rooms also have a minibar, balcony or terrace. Other guests book single or double rooms at the Hotel Bundschuh to enjoy the hotel's own garden, discover the Snow White town of Lohr and experience the beauty of the Spessart while hiking or Nordic walking.
